Independent Productions continue to SHINE AT THE BOX OFFICE!
Congratulations to Neon’s ‘Long Legs’ $22.6M opening weekend box office (filmed in Vancouver, BC). For Horror Film fans….this one is truly frightening!!!
While ‘Inside Out 2’ as of July 14th, grossed $572.6M in the United States and Canada, and $777.5M in other territories, for a worldwide total of $1.35B (the 5th highest animated feature of all time / highest-grossing Pixar film internationally and the top-grossing movie of 2024 in international markets)… While the U.S. box office in 2024 is still struggling compared to 2023 (residual effects of the 2023 writers' and actors' strikes, have delayed major film releases, resulting in fewer blockbusters to draw in large audiences). In 2023, the domestic box office brought in nearly $9 billion, showing a significant recovery post-pandemic. However, projections for 2024 continue to suggest that it might not fall short of 2023 figures. Analysts have estimated the summer box office to total around $3.3 billion, slightly below the $4 billion achieved in the summer of 2023 (with ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, ‘Twisters’, ‘Alien: Romulus’ and M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Trap’ still to come this summer, and ‘Wicked’ in November!!
