My name is Shealyn Fitzsimons. I am an aspiring filmmaker and active freelance production assistant. I have worked on several independent films, features and shorts, and have relevant experience in every stage of production. I have been out of work for close to a year outside of some dayplaying, but am determined to re-establish myself on set. Film and television have always been my passion and any foot in the door, advice, or even a point in the right direction would go a long way :).

You should sign up as a non-union extra thru Central Casting and/or other Extra Casting Agencies in town and get booked that way which can get you on the set. Once there, find out who the ADs are and try and push your resume to them preferably when they are not busy and if you are able to access their email id. I have know of PAs having done this and gotten set work thru the AD Department.
