The last time we saw Deborah (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) they were spiraling in Singapore after the end of Deborah's late night career. In the fifth and final season airing now on HBO Max, they return stateside so Deborah can take control of her legacy after her death is falsely reported.
Hacks has won 12 Emmys in its first 4 seasons, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting awards for Smart and Einbinder and is expected to pick up more nominations when the 2026 nominations are announced in July.
