Applications Open for Production Guild of Great Britain's Step Up to Production Accountant Programme

The Production Guild of Great Britain and Entertainment Partners are delighted to announce that applications are now open for our Step Up to Production Accountant Training Programme, taking place in Manchester, England.

This fully subsidised course is funded by the Talent Development Fund, which was created by Entertainment Partners and Netflix to support the development and progression of film and high-end TV production talent across the UK.

Over five days, participants will gain a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the Production Accountant role, guided by experienced Financial Controller Bex Scott. The course will cover:

  • The role of the Production Accountant
  • Insurance and taxation
  • VAT and tax relief
  • Employment law and contracts including IR35
  • Multi-currency and multi-company
  • Forecasting
  • Hiring inclusively
  • Mental health awareness
  • Leadership and conflict resolution
  • Software, including Movie Magic Budgeting and SmartAccounting.

This course is recommended for 1st Assistant Accountants, or individuals with an equivalent level of experience, who have held this position for at least three HETV or feature film productions. It is also open to those who have recently become a Production Accountant and would like to increase their confidence and fill any knowledge gaps.

On completion of the course, trainees will be offered a courtesy six-month Alumni Membership to the Production Guild.
